Seal Caretaker for a Day: Experience it at A Seal

Ever wondered what it’s like to care for seals? At A Seal, we offer a unique opportunity to roll up your sleeves and spend a day working in our seal rehabilitation center! As a ‘seal caretaker for a day’, you’ll get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look and help care for these special animals.

What does the day involve?

During your day as a seal caretaker, you’ll assist with the daily care of the seals. This includes cleaning the enclosures, helping with feeding, and preparing the seals’ meals. A lunch will be provided at the nearby restaurant Zoet of Zout. You’ll be guided by experienced seal caretakers and learn all about the rehabilitation of the seals in our care. As a fun ending to the day, you’ll receive a goodie bag (including one free ticket for a future visit) and a certificate. A few photos of you as a seal caretaker will also be emailed to you afterward.

• Price: €299 per person
• Age: This program is available for participants aged 18 and older
• Availability: Only bookable on weekends, with a maximum of 2 participants
• Waiting list: Due to limited availability, you’ll be placed on a waiting list upon registration

Please note: The program may be canceled if the center is too busy or too quiet. We aim to inform you in time about any changes. The program may also be adjusted depending on the condition of the animals.

Other terms and conditions

A Seal is a seal hospital, and seals are the largest predators in the Netherlands. For that reason, this day takes place under the expert guidance of an experienced seal caretaker, and the following terms apply:

• The house rules also apply to participants and must be signed before the start of the program.
• Participation is only possible after full payment and signing the agreement.
• This program cannot be booked if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• The program is conducted in Dutch or English (our programme is only in Dutch or English language).
